NYÍRSÉGVÍZ Nyíregyháza and Conurbation Water and Canalization Closed Shareholder Group was found in October 1996, by 29 municipalities and the Ministry of Traffic and Communication, as representant of the Hungarian State. The number of owners is already 50 in the year 2010, and the conditions for further expansion are given.
The company operates a public utility in a value more than 25 billion HUF, and has 383 employees; the pipeline drinking-water service is being resorted by about 211 thousand people. About 130 thousand customers are connected to the sewerage network. According to the last year data, Nyírségvíz has a drinking-water production capacity of 75.133 m3/day, the sewage treatment capacity is 25.907 m3/day. The water attendance is 97% in the operation area, meanwhile the sewerage disposal rate takes 62%. The relation between the provided water and the disposed sewage is 76%, which is higher than the Hungarian average. Between the about 350 Hungarian waterworks companies, Nyírségvíz is in the 10-15th place for years. The strategy of Nyírségvíz was built around the quality, efficiency and asset-aware management. The most important objective is the undisturbed attendance of the consumers with a drinking water of good quality, respectively, the environment-aware treatment of the arisen wastewater, and returning it into the nature.
