One of the basic tasks of our shareholder group is drinking-water production and attendance. We have to assure a drinking-water of perfect quality and pressure towards the civil inhabitants and industrial, trading and agricultural utilities in Nyíregyháza and in it’s conurbation. The public utility assets operated by Nyírségvíz are partly properties of the state, partly of the town municipality. The drinking-water attendance of Nyíregyháza and conurbation are being ensured by the state-owned water-production plants in Kótaj, Paszab and Nyírtelek; the cleaned drinking-water is coming to the Southern and Northern Receiving Stations of Nyíregyháza through an about 90 km long pipeline. The proper pressure for the whole water network shall be ensured from these stations by modern pressure-enhancers. At the drinking-water production plants, the raw water is being yielded from waterbases placed in the soil layers middle and lower Pleistocene, through 110 – 200 m deep wells. This water becomes appropriate for drinking after de-ironisation and de-manganisation; the summary capacity of the water-production plants is 48.000 m3/d. From the water-production plants and the remote pipelines, we also attend some settlements directly, like Kótaj, Nyírszőlős, Nyírtelek, Paszabcsúcs, Varjúlapos, Nagycserkesz, Paszab, Tiszabercel, Nagyhalász, Sóstó, Sóstóhegy. In the area of Nyíregyháza’s conurbation, the water attendance of Nagycserkesz, Manda, Felsősima, Kálmánháza, Butyka, Rozsrét, Nyírpazony, Nyírtura, Sényő, and Oros has been solved through further development of the Nyíregyháza city water pipeline system. The attendance of the conurbation settlements placed more far from Nyíregyháza is being assured presently by the operation of local municipality-owned waterworks. The disconcentrated placing of the operation area made the formation of the so called sub-center system necessary. At this time, five sub-centers ensure the operation, maintenance and development of 16 water-plants and 40 local water-networks; sub-centers have been established in Ibrány, Tiszalök, Levelek, Demecser and Újfehértó. From January of 2008, our company operates the water utilities in Nyírbátor, Nyírvasvári, furthermore Nyírtelek and it’s suburbs.
